Use the Zero Product Property and factoring, when necessary, to solve for $x$. The Math Notes box for Lesson 1.1.4 or problems 3-111 and 4-80 may be useful, if you need help.

1. $(x+13)(x−7)=0$

Set each factor to 0.

$x = −13$ or $x = 7$

1. $(2x+3)(3x−7)=0$

Refer to part (a).

$x=-\frac{3}{2}\text{ or }x=\frac{7}{3}$

1. $x(x−3)=0$

Refer to part (a).

$x = 0$ or $x = 3$

1. $x^2−5x=0$
