$y − b = mx$

$x=\frac{y-b}{m}$

1. $A = \pi r ^ { 2 }\quad ( \text { for } r )$

Divide both sides by $π$.

$\frac{A}{\pi}=r^2$

Take the square root of both sides.

$\sqrt{\frac{A}{\pi}}=r$

1. $V = L H W \quad ( \text { for } W )$

To solve for $W$ divide both sides of the equation by ($LH$).

1. $2 x + \frac { 1 } { y } = 3 \quad ( \text { for } y )$

Subtract $2x$ from both sides.

$\frac{1}{y}=-2x+3$

Multiply by $y$ on both sides.

$1 = y(3 − 2x)$

How can you get $y$ by itself?

$\frac{1}{3-2\textit{x}}=\textit{y}$
