7-39.

Cheri has forgotten how to change a quadratic equation from standard form to graphing form. She remembers some things about averaging intercepts and completing the square, but she is really confused. Clearly show Cheri both methods to change $y = x^{2} + 4x − 7$ into graphing form.

Try making a generic rectangle to complete the square.

You will probably need to use the quadratic formula to average the intercepts.

$y = \left(x + 2\right)^{2} − 11$
