Which equation below has no solution?  Explain how you know.

1. $4(x+1)=2x+4$

Solve the equation for $x$.
$4x+4=2x+4$
$4x=2x$

All you need to know is that equation (a) has at least one solution.

1. $9−5x+2=4−5x$

Again, solve the equation for $x$.

Equation (b) has no solution.
