Circle, with top view of world globe within the circle, circle is bolded and located on globe where equator would be. 4 additional circles, with the North Pole as the center, increasing in size. Line segments radiate, from the center, equally spaced, to the circle.In the picture of a globe at right, the lines of latitude are concentric circles. Where else might you encounter concentric circles?  

Remember, concentric circles are circles with the same center.

A few examples of concentric circles are tree rings, a cross-section of a baseball, ripples in pond, and a bull's-eye.
