When solving equations with an $x²$-term, you can use the Quadratic Formula. See the Math Notes box in Lesson 3.2.3.

1. $\frac { 3.2 } { x } = \frac { 7.5 } { x ^ { 2 } }$

$3.2x^² = 7.5x$

1. $4(x-2)+3(-x + 4)= −2(x-3)$

$4x - 8 + (-3x) + 12 = -2x + 6$

1. $2x^2 + 7x - 15 = 0$

One solution is $x = 1.5$.

1. $3x^2 - 2x = -1$

To use the Quadratic Formula, the equation must be in the form $ax² + bx + c = 0$.
