4-75.

Solve each equation below for the given variable. Show all work and check your answer.

1. $\sqrt{x}-5=2$

Add $5$ to both sides.

$\sqrt{x} = 7$

$\sqrt{x}^2 = 7^2$

$x=49$

1. $-4(-2-x)=5x+6$

Distribute before simplifying.

1. $\frac{5}{x-2}=\frac{3}{2}$

$10=3(x-2)$

1. $x^2+4x-5=0$

If this equation does not factor, use the Quadratic Formula to solve.
