Remember the ruler problems you've done before? Try counting the whole inches and then the leftover quarter inches.
By counting by wholes and parts, you can see that the line segment is two and one-half inches long.
Although this ruler is in centimeters, the steps for measuring the line segment are the same as in part (a).
