4-113.

Make up sets of data that satisfy each of the conditions described in parts (a) and (b) below.

1. $6$ pieces of data with a median of $12$, a mode of $12$, and mean of $10$.

___, ___, $12,\ 12$, ___, ___
Start by making sure the median is $12$.

___, ___, $12,\ 12,\ 12$,  ___
Then you could ensure that $12$ is the mode by making three of them.

The mean of $4, 4, 6, 6$ is $5$. How can you tell without calculating?
Can you use this idea to help you make up other numbers to make the mean of your data set $10$?

1. $4$ pieces of data with a median of $8$, a mode of $8$, and a range of $8$.

This one is very similar to part (a).
