Draw two different simple geometric shapes (such as rectangles or right triangles) onto grid paper.  

  1. Choose one shape and enlarge it so that each side is twice as long as the original.

  • Measure the units on each side of your figure and double it when drawing the enlarged figure.

  1. Choose the other shape and reduce it so that each side is half the length of the original.

  • Measure the units on each side of your figure and take half of it when drawing the reduced figure.
