On graph paper, draw a rectangle with a width of units and a length of units.

  1. Draw a new rectangle that is an enlarged copy of your original rectangle and has a length of units.

Notice that the side units long corresponds to the side units long.

  2. Show how you can calculate the width of your new rectangle.

  • What number did you multiply units by to get units?
Use this same multiplier to calculate the new enlarged width.

Use to find the new width of the rectangle.
