7-88.

Simplify each expression.

1. $\frac{73}{100}\cdot(-\frac{2}{7})$

Multiply the numerators together and multiply the denominators together. Then simplify.

$-\frac{73}{350}$

1. $0.4·0.3$

Remember, when you multiply you do not need to line up the decimal points. You do need to decide how many decimal points to put in the answer, however.

$0.12$

1. $-\frac{63}{80}+\frac{7}{10}$

Find a common denominator then combine.

$-\frac{7}{80}$

1. $5 \frac { 1 } { 9 } + 8 \frac { 2 } { 5 }$

Add the whole numbers together. Find a common denominator for the fractions and add those separately.

$(5+8)+\left(\frac{1}{9}+\frac{2}{5}\right)$

1. $-\frac{9}{17}-\frac{1}{2}$

See part (c).

1. $-1.2+(-\frac{3}{5})$

Convert the decimal into a fraction or the fraction into a decimal before combining.
