Solve the equations below by first changing each equation to a simpler equivalent equation. Check your solutions.

1. $3000 x - 2000 = 10,000$

• Divide by a common factor, then solve.

1. $\frac { - 2 x } { 3 } - \frac { x } { 7 } = 17$

• Multiply by the Least Common Multiple of $3$ and $7$.

1. $\frac { 5 } { 2 } x - \frac { 1 } { 3 } = 13$

• Multiply the equation by a common denominator.

1. $\frac { 3 } { 10 } + \frac { 2 x } { 5 } = \frac { 1 } { 2 }$
