2-51.

Simplify the following expressions by combining like terms, if possible.

1. $x+x-3+4x^2+2x-x$

Rearrange and put like terms together.

 $x+x+2x-x-3+4x^2$A arrow goes from the x, x, 2x, and negative x, to the combined result of 3 x.$\quad 3x \quad\quad -3+4x^2$

Organize the terms from the greatest to the smallest power.

$4x^2+3x-3$

1. $8x^2+3x-13x^2+10x^2-25x-x$

Follow the steps in part (a).

$5x^2-23x$

1. $4x+3y$

Are there any like terms to combine?

1. $20+3xy-3+4y^2+10-2y^2$
