3-104.

For the following equations, simplify and solve for the variable. Show all work and check your solution, if possible.

1. $-2+x=-x+2$

$-2+x=-x+2$
$+2\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ +2$

Get the variable on one side.

$x=-x+4$
$+x+x$

$2x=4$

Solve for $x$

$x=2$

1. $-(x-1)=-4x-2$

How does the negative sign in front of the variable change what is inside?

Follow the steps in part (a).

1. $2+3x=3x+2$

Follow the steps in part (a).

$x=$ all numbers

1. $-(-x+6)=-3x$

Follow the steps in part (b).
