Get $x$ on one side of the equation by itself.

Subtract $22$ from both sides.

Divide both sides by $2$.

$x=−5$

1. Solve for $y$: $2x−y=3$

Follow the steps in part (a). You will end up with a new equation, not a number solution.

1. Solve for $x$: $2x+15=2x−15$

Can $2x+15$ ever $=2x−15$?

There is no solution.

1. Solve for $y$: $6x+2y=10$

Follow the steps in part (a). Again, you will end up with a new equation.

$y=−3x+5$
