7-103.

At a family reunion, each family member recorded his or her age and height.

  1. Fully describe the association.

As age increases, so does height.

There is a moderate, positive, linear association. Are there any outliers?

  2. Copy the scatterplot and draw the trend line.  Does your -intercept make sense in this problem situation?

A child of 0 years should still have a little positive height.
What does this mean about the -intercept?

A scatter plot, x axis labeled, age in years, y axis labeled, height in inches. The points are scattered, with low x values, having low y values, and high x values, having high y values.
