2-57.

Use your understanding of equivalent fractions to write two fractions that are equivalent to each of the following fractions. Homework Help ✎

1. $\quad \frac { 1 } { 2 }$

• How would you write this as a fraction with a denominator of 4?

These are two equivalent fractions, but there are more answers.

$\frac{2}{4}, \; \frac{3}{6}$

1. $\quad \frac { 3 } { 5 }$

• 10 is a multiple of 5, so try making a fraction equivalent to three fifths, with 10 as the denominator.

1. $\frac { 4 } { 7 }$

• This is similar to parts (a) and (b).

Can you find more equivalent fractions?

$\frac{8}{14}$
