5-50.

Solve each of the following equations. Homework Help ✎

1. $\frac { 3 x } { 5 } = \frac { x - 2 } { 4 }$

$x = -\frac{10}{7}$

2. $\frac { 4 x - 1 } { x } = 3 x$

$4x−1=3x^2$

$0=3x^2−4x+1$

3. $\frac { 2 x } { 5 } - \frac { 1 } { 3 } = \frac { 137 } { 3 }$

Multiply each term by the common denominator of $3\ \text{and}\ 5$.

$x=115$

4. $\frac { 4 x - 1 } { x + 1 } = x - 1$

Use the same method as in part (b).
